Milos Beach
The beach right near the house, shaded by tamarisk trees — has shade all day.

Only places we've visited, eaten at, and genuinely love. Starting in Korthi, then out across the island.

Korthi is the kind of place that doesn't try to impress you. It just is. A real village with real people, where the bakery opens early, the fishermen come back by noon, and by evening everyone ends up at the same spot by the water. No tourist crowds, no performance. Within a day or two, you'll recognize faces. Within a week, people will greet you by name.

The beach right next to the church — there's almost never any wind here. There's a place to sit and easy access to the water, good for elders too. Doloma, the bar right on it, is a good spot for cocktails and a light bite if you don't feel like just swimming.
One of the most famous and beautiful beaches on Andros. Easy to reach — a short walk down from the parking area right above the beach, or if you feel like a walk, an easy stroll from the village itself.
A spring in the village of Aidonia where you can fill up on drinking water, take a small walk, and enjoy the quiet and the shade. Right nearby is the famous old "Loxo Gefyri" (crooked/diagonal stone bridge) of Klour.
Nikos will cook for you whatever's freshest that day — the kind of place where you just ask what's good. He has the best fish soup, and great souvlaki and local food too. Sit in or take away — the perfect place to feel local.
A small family-run taverna with local home-cooked dishes — mom and dad cook, the son waits tables.
TipThe old man himself is always in his undershirt — part of the charm of the place. You have to try the fries — the mom peels the potatoes fresh every day.
A young local crew opened this Greek meze/tapas spot this year, right across from the sea. Always packed, young and happy energy, and the food is excellent.
Greek food, but more refined — more thought put into it. The fries with yogurt sauce, the meat, the wine list, the feeling of being in the village while the locals are out celebrating life.
TipTheir coffee is excellent and they also do breakfast. A good place to work if you need wifi and quiet, or for a night out that's a step up from a local taverna.
Great food — good meats, special salads, upscale for a taverna. And the view. If you feel like swimming, the beach is right below the restaurant, with a great beach shower.
TipOpen in summer only.
A tiny restaurant in the village of Kochylo above Korthi with live music performances.
TipNot open every day — check their Instagram (instagram.com/kochylaki_andros) for opening hours and performance dates before heading up.
A wonderful bakery. Great sourdough bread, plus excellent spanakopita, tiropita, and kourabiedes.
TipCome early — things sell out fast.
The best place for almond sweets — a small local patisserie worth the stop. Also good ice cream, cakes made to order, and a chance to see a whole family working together.
A beautiful village above Korthi. Wander the narrow alleyways between the stone houses, and pick grapes, figs, plums, mulberries and whatever else nature is offering that season, right off the trees and vines.
Step out of the house and you're already walking — coastal paths, dry-stone terraces, wildflowers in spring, and quiet stone ruins. The sea is always there. A morning swim and coffee on the rocks, a book in the shade by noon.
A quiet villa between the mountains and the sea, designed by Rafi Segal — your base for everything in this guide.
